The day I said I do

As per usual I have promised myself to keep writing and updating on here, but seeing as i last left off in april 2014 - its pretty clear i failed to keep that promise.

2015 was the most incredible year, september being my favourite month as it was the month my gorgeous husband and I got married! woohooo! we also had our stag and hen do's in september, so it was a very busy month of celebrating.
So this brings me to our big day - i can't even put into words how perfect it was.
we woke up to it being a beautifully sunny day (so hot it felt as though we were in a different country) and it was such a relief to see the sun shining as we had pouring rain the week before.
I got ready at my mum and dads with my sister and bridesmaids and had a lovely relaxed morning getting our hair and make up done whilst sipping on bucks fizz before getting into our dresses and leaving for the hotel.

we decided to get married and have our reception all at the same place. Marsham court hotel in Bournemouth, i could not say enough good things about them, they were so brilliant on not only the day but the lead up before - we had our ceremony outside in their garden,& being late september all the flowers were all in bloom and we said our vows on the decking in front of a little white pagoda  which we then later signed the register in.

After walking back up the stone steps after getting to say i do, we all got to enjoy bucks fizz and canapés on the terrace in the sun, followed by lots of pictures and then finally getting to sneak off with our photographer, into the gardens on the road opposite and getting some couple pictures, I wasn't sure to begin with whether to go on our own or bring our wedding party with us, but i'm so glad we did as it was so nice to let it sink in that we're actually married, and just enjoy 20 minutes together (especially as the day went so quickly, it was hard to keep track of each other when there are so many guests to welcome and say hi too)

At 3pm we finally sat down for our speeches and our dinner ( again it all went so quickly -  I wish i could go back and do it all again)
Our beautiful cake below was made by Pete's auntie. we both couldn't agree on what we wanted for our wedding cake, with both very different ideas - mine being classic or pretty/or as you can see an ombre theme with our colours ( mint, lilac and gold) - and then pete's idea being dr who - so after many evenings on pinterest we came across a half and half cake and then eventually came up with this idea, it not only looked amazing it tasted incredible - Lemon sponge our favourite!

It then quickly came to our evening reception where we welcomed more friends and danced the night away with them! we also hired a photobooth and chocolate fountains in 3 different flavours, which were a big hit! and we also have some amazing photobooth pictures from it too!

The best day we've ever had! I hope you've enjoyed this post - sorry its picture heavy! we have over 1000 and i love every single one!

My next post will be about our honeymoon so keep your eyes peeled :)

Love, Liz xx
